What to expect…

The Scuba Shop ℠ is located at Pristine Bay & Las Verandas. We offer an unparalleled location to discover scuba diving. If you've ever wondered what it must be like to explore the underwater world, then a Discover Scuba Dive (DSD) may be the right next step for you. A DSD is a fun and safe introduction into the world of scuba diving and, more importantly, into the underwater world.

The Discover Scuba Dive requires two to three hours to complete. And while a DSD is not an official PADI certification, it does expose a diver candidate to the underwater world while also providing an overview of what it takes to become a certified open-water diver.

Open Water courses usually require two to four days to complete. There is an e-Learning program that allows prospective divers to complete the classroom portion of the course at home while giving them the option to complete the confined and open water dives anywhere in the world.

Description

Discover Scuba is a PADI program. The Scuba Shop offers this program at Pristine Bay and Las Verandas Resort in Roatan Honduras. More specifically, we are located on Roatan’s Bitcoin Beach!

The program includes an overview of the scuba equipment, scuba hand signals, and a scuba dive to a Max Depth of 40ft (12m). The dive can be done either off the beach or from a Scuba Shop dive boat. A discover scuba dive is something you can do while close to your home or while you're on Roatan. While not a scuba certification course, the Discover Scuba Diving program offers a quick, easy, and safe introduction to the underwater world and to what it takes to become a certified scuba diver. Diver candidates must be at least ten years old. No prior experience is required. That said, good physical health is required.

Academics

Scuba candidates learn basic safety guidelines and skills needed to scuba dive while under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. If candidates elect to make an open water dive, then they will need to practice a few more skills in shallow water before they embark on their adventure. Prepare to:

  • Go over the scuba equipment that you will use to dive

  • Experience how easy it is to move about underwater.

  • Experience what it's like to breathe underwater.

  • Learn the key skills you'll use during every scuba dive.

  • Have fun swimming and exploring a whole new world.

  • Learn more about becoming a certified scuba diver.

Equipment

A member of our team will fit you with all the proper scuba gear you'll need to be safe. This includes a mask, a snorkel, fins, and a regulator, along with a buoyancy control device, your dive gauges, and a scuba tank.

Visit the Scuba Shop to learn more about the gear you will use on your next adventure
